Get to know us.

Our business is rooted in a set of core values centered on local sustainability and offering maximum value to our clients by doing the job right the first time. We beleive that high quality workmanship is worth the investment. Anything short of top-quality service is no service at all.

Nik and Sam

Nik and Sam built their business together from the ground up. Best friends and teammates since their freshman year at Capital High School, Nik Palladino and Sam Bennett-Cumming met at football practice, where Sam enjoyed repeatedly smashing Nik into the ground during plank drills (they will be happy to tell you the story).

They now focus their attention and competitive energy on striving to best serve their customers, employees, and the community. Together they hope to build a different kind of home services company with Phinney Ridge Painting.

Painting is in his blood. Born and bred in Olympia, Nik was raised by a second-generation house painter who instilled in him the importance of a good work ethic, fairness, and sustainable business practices.

Nik attended the University of Washington where he received a degree in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs from the Jackson School of International Studies, which serves as a valuable asset running a business and advocating for his clients’ best interests. As a “lifetime learner,” Nik is always on the move and can often be found out exploring on his mountain bike or at home making insanely good beer.

Sam Bennet-Cumming

Also from Olympia, Sam is the son of a high school spanish teacher and an environmentalist. He attended Evergreen State College where he received a liberal arts degree with a focus in visual arts and fine wood working. A busy-body and family man, Sam spends his free time with his wife- Robin, and son- Jonah. He also enjoys custom building solid wood furniture for clients at his home shop.

Don’t be surprised if you find Sam eating spicy food or riding his mountain bike around the neighborhood with his son Jonah on the back seat.
